For Three's wedding, we're thinking golden cakes (perhaps several small-ish ones) might be the way to go. Here are some of my favorites. What do you think? Any ideas???
Love it. Just realized a couple months ago how much I love gold (and never use it??) - the cake on the lower right corner also has fantastic intricate filigrane style thing (the peacock - now what word would you use for it?) and I love that too. You could use it for Three's wedding but you could also make it and invite me over!
Oh, realized I did have some gold in my wedding gown! That was because husband wanted to wear a black-and-gold kurta he got from India and I thought I'd better use same color or I'd be just a pale shadow next to him.
I love all the gold in general. I especially like the henna art cake, but agree that one will be hard to do. Maybe for a grooms cake, since they are so much smaller. I like the one with the flower, though. The flower growing out of a rich foundation symbolizes for me all the family support and love that nurtured Three through all her years and now goes with her. That one gets my nod.
No Fondant ! Makes the cake look great - but doesn't do much for the flavor! I love the middle bottom cake best =)

Loooove the gold coin-encrusted confection on the upper right! And the henna art cake of kind of amazing, but i'm guessing MUCH harder to duplicate!
